There are not many people who can genuinely say that they enjoy going to work every day, but Danny Quelch, a Personal Trainer for almost quarter of a century, is one of those rare individuals.
Hoping for a career as a professional footballer, Danny was scouted as a teenager to play at Tottenham Hotspur FC.
However, when that particular dream came to an end, Danny turned disappointment into opportunity by pursuing a career in the fitness industry given his keen interest in exercise and health. He gained a qualification in Recreation and Fitness from Harlow College, and followed this up with an Advanced Fitness Instructor qualification from the ACSM (Amercian College of Science and Medicine). .
So Premier League football’s loss was the fitness industry’s gain.
Danny set up and ran a number of gyms including one at the prestigious Hertfordshire Golf before branching out on his own and establishing Fitness Focus over 15 years ago.
Danny says: ‘I love the day to day buzz of working with people of all age groups and from all walks of life. No two clients are ever alike and depending on their fitness goals, neither is the challenge. I’m particularly proud of having trained a number of people to run marathons from being complete novices.”
Qualified to train all age groups whatever their personal fitness goals, Danny’s motto is: “Don’t start a diet that has an expiry date . . . focus on a lifestyle that will last forever.”
